Night-O at Tourne County Park

NOTE - UPDATED PARKING LOCATION!!!!  Use this link - https://w3w.co/kick.handy.whips.   Left turn on Powerville Road after the UPS store and look for the second car park!  Please note approach to this parking lot can only be done via Powerville Road (from the East).  The road is closed if you try to come in on McCaffrey Lane from Norris Road (from the West).  Don't forget to download Maprun onto your phone or Garmin watch before coming to the event if you want your times to be included in the results.  Headlamps are mandatory and back up batteries are strongly recommended.

Starts between 7 pm - 830 pm

Courses close at 930 pm

Tourne County Park - Night Orienteering Event

Arrive 6.30pm onwards. Self service starts between 7pm and 8.30pm - all courses close by 9.30pm.

A long and a short course will be offered (approx. distances to follow)

Headlamps or hand torches required (no exceptions). Additional back up batteries or headlamp are strongly encouraged.

Half normal size reflective orienteering flags will be used.

 

GPS based timing using MapRun - no physical punching will be provided.
 

If you want your run to be timed, you will need to download MapRun onto your phone or Garmin compatible watch and bring them on the run, so plan accordingly.

The orienteering in this park is technical in nature and will be harder in the dark.  This event is NOT suitable for beginners.
