Tuesday Evening Orienteering sessions in NYC
from May 19th to August 4th and August 25
We are pleased to offer once again our Summer Tuesdays orienteering training series in New York City.
Training series will be held on very detailed recently created/updated sprint color maps, drawn in IOF ISSprOM 2019 symbols. Scale - 1:3,000 or 1:4,000.
Expect Staples printing quality.
IMPORTANT! Let Stefan know at least 20 hours prior to the training whether you intend to come by email to ungvar1@optimum.net (indicate in the subject the name of the appropriate park) or by texting Stefan Slutsky via Messenger. Also provide your e-punch number (or that you are going to rent one).
On each training session only ONE course will be offered. However, you may ask in advance for a White or Yellow course.
Newcomers are warmly welcomed, but only brief instructions might be available.
However, you may arrange such instructions during the week with Stefan or ask other participants of the session to provide one. Usually, there are plenty of people willing to help.
Training will take place in any weather conditions, except severe storms.
The courses will be pre-printed, although - if needed - you may copy your course from the master map.
At the controls' location, you will find a SportIdent station with or without either pink/red ribbon, or a smaller version of control flag (6"x6" or 2"x2").
Have a fanny pack (or something of that sort) to carry all your valuables with you all the time. We will do our best to have a person to keep their eye on your clothes while you are on the course.
Donations of $7 will be very appreciated for the map ($10 if the course printed on two or more maps/sides or on 11"x17" paper) and $3 for renting the e-punch.
IMPORTANT! These are training courses, not organized events!
Each participant in any or all of the Summer Tuesdays Training events assumes full responsibility for any and all injuries, losses and damages that he or she incurs while attending or participating in the Summer Weekdays Training events.
Please observe traffic regulations (if applicable), do not trespass onto private properties, respect properties, respect others' right to move freely in the park.
Starts will be available between 6pm and 7:20pm.
However, only the first 20 registered will be allowed to come and start at 6pm. The rest will be asked to come and start 20 or more minutes later.
