Westmoreland Sanctuary and HVO again joined together for their annual Raid the Sanctuary.

The rain held off for most of the runners (but not alas for the control pick-uppers!)

​

Fastest Viking time was actually Will Hawkins but he was awarded a 20 minute penalty for being 2 hours late for the mass start. Which was just as well as the award for first had already been given to Taras and was quickly eaten (Thanks Cathy's for the blueberry tart).

The Mystery O leg was a blank map (except for start and finish) with just a set of bearings and distances. Apologies for those who wasted time on leg 6 because the bearing was about 10 degrees off! (Although I only got a comment about this from one runner).

​

Also aplologies to all the mass start runners and some of the later rec course runners who had problems with the start punch and the one of the clear punches. Your times have been adjusted and should be OK in the results. Haven't had time to sort it out yet but think one of the Clear punches was acually a Start punch!

Thanks to Ksenyia for the courses - excepy for mystery O which I will take the blame for. Also thanks to Bob, Dave, Albina, Nadia, John for set out and pick-up. Also Bob and Sella for staying out at the map exchanges - a thankless task.
