Chase Start format.
-
For the competitive courses, this event is organized as a Chase Start where the order and timing of each participant’s start will be determined based on the final results on each course from the WCOC NRE event the day before.
-
To make the chase start a bit more exciting, the start intervals for each course will take place within a five-minute window:
-
The course winner from the WCOC NRE event starts first, and
-
The remaining runners start in the order they finished at the WCOC event with a time interval equal to 50% of the time behind the course winner.
-
Mass start for all remaining runners 5 minutes after the first runner started. The mass start will include the remaining participants from the WCOC event.
-
-
The plan is for Brown course to start first at 10.00am.The Green course start will be approximately 10.15am, and finally, Red and Blue will start at around 10.30am. Depending on the number of participants on the Blue and Red courses, the two courses may potentially be combined into one group/course.
-
The results for each course will be based on the finishing order.
-
There are overlapping legs between the advanced courses, so runners should expect to see plenty of fellow competitors out in the woods.
-
All advanced courses will have a ‘diamond forking’ on the course. Essentially, this forking consists of four controls with five legs in total. All competitors will run each of the five legs in the same direction, but in different order. Such ‘Diamond Forking” was used at the JWOC 2019 Long Course in Denmark.
